Army soldiers are few of the most respected people in any country. We all feel proud of them. But does a soldier protect civilians only at the border? Or does he perform his duty in his personal life too? #SatelliteShankar explores the human side of an army man. Does it succeed in its attempt or fail? Let’s analyse.
Synopsis
#SatelliteShankar narrates the story of an army soldier who gets injured while completing a mission. So, the doctors advise him to take a short break for 8 days. The soldier Shankar (#SoorajPancholi) has some pending work in his hometown in Tamil Nadu. The movie traverses the journey of the army soldier starting from his camp and returning to his camp.
Direction
#IrfanKamal chooses a unique story but has a long way to go as far as his direction abilities are concerned. His direction is not bad but his control over the film appears weak. Many scenes seem to go haywire. Irfan has the potential to become a good storyteller if he concentrates more on the story and acting department next time.
Technical Department
The cinematography by #JitanHarmeetSingh is good. The film covers many states and places of India from north to south. Music is ok. Editing by #ChandanArora is not up to the mark. Although the story is good, the screenplay is faulty. The viewers would find it difficult to get emotionally connected with the film due to a confusing screenplay.
Performances
#SoorajPancholi gives a decent performance but still has a long way to go in acting especially in emotional and comedy scenes. In several scenes, he looks like a caricature of an army man.
#MeghaAkash has done a fine job. #AnuragMishra performs well too. Rest of the cast has tried to put up a good show.
WMR Verdict
#SatelliteShankar has its heart and intention at the right place; however, the faulty screenplay spoils the show. Nevertheless, it is a one-time watch with family for its noble intention.
