The year 2019 is going to be a memorable year for #Bollywood as most of the #films releasing now are #blockbusters both content-wise and #boxoffice collection-wise. ‘#Kesari’ is one of those films which we predict is soon going to enter the zone of the 100 crore club in the next few days. There are several reasons to go and see ‘Kesari’ in theaters.
‘Kesari’ is a film that is based on true events. It is a story of the fight of 21 brave Sikh soldiers against 10,000 #Afghan invaders also known as the Battle of #Saragarhi. The story itself holds a huge #historical significance, and the way it is portrayed in the #movie is really #commendable. Most of the people will have one question in their minds that it might be the third war film releasing in the year #2019 after two #blockbusters like ‘#Uri- The Surgical Strike’ and ‘#Manikarnika- The Queen of Jhansi’. So, why should we watch this film in theaters?
The answer is very simple. Watch this film to get colored with #bravery, #patriotism, #fortitude, and never-say-die #attitude. This film will pierce through your #heart and invoke #feelings of #pride and respect for our #brave soldiers. The film has a clear-cut message against ‘#Jihad’, and the movie subtly demonstrates how religion is misused to create a war. Bollywood #filmmakers have finally unearthed the secret potion of #mesmerizing the #audience with #patriotism and undoubtedly several movies are being made to titillate the patriotic emotion (our sources have confirmed that we might soon have a movie made on Pilot Abhinandan who was recently caught and released by the Pakistan #army).
Akshay Kumar is the heart of the film, and ‘#Akki’ has once again showed that he still possesses the ability to carry a film on his shoulders. His character Havildar Iswar Singh will be remembered by the audience for a long time. Be his #dialogue delivery in the #Sikh accent or his #jaw-dropping #action sequences, Akshay Kumar has ticked all the boxes appropriately.
The way he leads the troop of 20 valiant #Sikh #soldiers against the 10,000 plus Afghan invaders will seem as if a pack of few lions have unleashed themselves on a horde of mad wolfs (it also reminds you of that scene in #Bahubali-Part 1 when the brave Bahubali and his army fight off a huge Kalkeyi army which attacks the Mahismati kingdom).
The songs are not only one of the positive aspects of the film but they are also used at the right timelines in the film. The background #music also enhances the patriotic feel throughout the film. The #cinematography has been excellent in ‘Kesari’. The areas of #North-west #Indian Province ‘Khyber’ which is now situated in Pakistan have been beautifully presented in the film. The camera work will make you feel as if you are situated right in the Khyber province and watching every frame of the #war as a mute spectator.
The #action sequences, which are the #heart of ‘Kesari’, are #choreographed in a #fascinating manner, and the use of CGI looks #classy on the screen. Most of the war sequences have been shot at #Wai, a temple region of #Maharashtra.
Like every other movie ‘Kesari’ has its own share of flaws. The movie seems stretched in the first half. The director of the film, #AnuragSingh tried to divide the movie in two parts: the build up of the war sequence in the first half and the actual war in the second half. Unfortunately, the first half covered only the backstory of Havildar Iswar Singh, and the backstory of the other 20 Sikh soldiers was not presented in detail. However, all the actors have done a wonderful job portraying the characters of the Sikh soldiers on the screen.
Parineeti Chopra has almost nothing to do in the film. Her role is completely wasted in 'Kesari’. It would have been great if the director had given the same opportunity to any budding actress. The editing of the movie should have been #crisper. The running time of the film is 2 hours and 30 min. Since the audience is well aware of the outcome of the movie from the beginning, the director should not have wasted much time in the build-up portion of the film.
Verdict: ‘Kesari’ is another film that is going to be added to the blockbusters’ list of Akshay Kumar’s filmography. The film will certainly evoke the nationalist sentiment, and it is made for the audience of all ages. So, there is a huge possibility that ‘Kesari’ will do a great #business at the box-office in the extended ‘#Holi’ weekend (the film had been released on Thursday because of the festival ‘Holi’) It is a right kind of film to go and enjoy with your family in the festive season. So, this weekend color your heart with a splash of Kesari.
