'#JudgementallHaiKya'- the movie has created a buzz among the audience right from the moment it was announced. Ahead of the release of the film, #KanganaRanaut got involved in an argument with a few journalists.
'Judgmentall Hai Kya' is all about Kangana Ranaut's character Bobby. You can go and watch this film in theatres to witness one of her best performances till date.
'Judgementall Hai Kya' revolves around the character of Bobby. Bobby has a psychological problem because of her childhood trauma. She has been diagnosed with acute psychosis, but she does not take her tablets. Owing to her condition, she stays in her own imaginary world, and her thought processes are quite different from other people.
The real story begins when Keshav (#RajkumarRao) and Rima (Amrya Dastur) come to stay with her in the same house as tenants. Bobby suspects that Keshav will kill Rima but no one believes her. In the meantime, Rima dies in a gas-leak accident. Was it just an accident or did someone kill her? Was Bobby's suspicion true? Is Keshav the killer? Or there is a twist in the tale? The answers to all these questions form the crux of the movie.
Direction:
Prakash Kovelamudi's direction is commendable. He narrates the entire story in a unique manner. The screenplay of Kanika Dhillon also keeps the audience intrigued throughout the movie. You can never judge who is the killer of Rima until the climax of the movie, and there in lies the beauty of the film. The narrative of the Ramayana used during the climax of the movie adds a different flavour to the movie. A lot of time is dedicated in the first half of the film to build up the characters. The first half ends on a high note. The second half is slightly slow paced and the pace picks up again during the climax. The audience has to be patient till the very end to know the final outcome.
Technical Departments:
The cinematography of the film is also praiseworthy. The varied use of lights to take the shots sets the tone of the film. The colour correction used in the film is also remarkable. The makers have given their 100% to make the film visually appealing. The editing of the movie is also good. The runtime of the film is 2 hours and 10 minutes, and no unnecessary scenes have been included in the film.
Music and background score:
The music has been average in this film. These kinds of thrillers do not require songs as the songs tend to slow down the pace of the movie. 'The Wakhra' song has been used at the very end of the movie. The background score could have been better.
Performances:
The biggest positive of this movie is the performance of the lead casts Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao. Day by day, Kangana is proving that she is capable of holding a film on her own shoulders. No one could have done enough justice to the role of 'Bobby' than Kangana. She is the soul of this film. The audience will certainly like the way she represented Bobby in the film. The mannerisms she has adapted to play this character is also unique. The various shades of Bobby have been portrayed quite well on the screen by Kangana Ranaut.
On the other hand, Rajkumar Rao is also creating his own genre in Bollywood. He is very choosy in selecting the script of his films, and he has never done a role like 'Keshav' before. Rajkumar Rao has taken the challenge, and he has done his job perfectly. The scenes between Rajkumar and Kangana are a treat to watch in the film. Both of them have performed so flawlessly that it becomes a great cinematic experience for the audience. Their performances have taken the film to the next level, despite a few flaws in the screenplay.
The performance of the supporting cast is also quite good. However, Jimmy Shergill has been wasted in this film as his character does not have much to do. Amrya Dastur as 'Rima' has done a good job and so does Hussain Dalal as 'Varun' (the so-called "boyfriend" of Bobby).
WMR Verdict:
Most of the departments of the movie 'Judgementall Hai Kya' have fared well. This is a must-watch film for the fans of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao. This film will attract the audience who loves to watch a different genre of movies not just 'Masala Movies'. However, we can say that this film is made for the multiplex audiences. The single-screen audience might not be interested to watch this movie, and this equation might hamper the box office collection of this film. The makers might consider themselves happy if the film reaches the 50cr mark at the box office.
